Bandipora students protest, demand admission in colleges at Hajin, Sumbal

Hajin: The career of many students who have recently cleared the class 12th board exams are at stake as they are unable to get admission in the colleges as their intake capacity has been exhausted.
The students from different areas took to streets at both GDC Sumbal and GDC Hajin to press for their demands.
The protesting students were shouting slogans against the authorities demanding the admission in the colleges.
Protesting students while speaking to Kashmir Reader said that we are not getting admission in the 1st semester this year as the authorities say no vacancy is available for intake of students from catchment areas.
We have been visiting the colleges from last eight days to get admission for the first semester but we are being told that the intake capacity has been exhausted as of now, Abdul Basit a student said
He added that our career is at stake and our precious time is getting wasted
The students from catchment areas of Banayari,Shahgund,Vijpara,Hajin,Madwan were seen protesting against authorities for denying the admission in these newly set colleges .
The protesters demanded resolving the sississue so that their precious time would not get wasted.
Dr Huda Principal Degree College Hajin while talking to Kashmir Reader said we have been allotted only 160 seats by higher education department and all those seats have been filled.
“It is better to talk with higher authorities regarding this issue as we have orders from them to take only 160 admission and till further orders from the higher education department we can not take any more admission in the college,” She said
She added that in the earlier rationalisation of colleges by the higher education department every colleges has been allotted seats as per the infrastructure and capacity .She added
