Pillion rider dies, driver injured in Awantipora accident

AWANTIPORA: A pillion rider was killed while the driver sustained critical injuries when there bike was hit by truck on the Srinagar-Jammu highway near Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday evening, police officer told Kashmir Reader.
A 19-year-old girl died on spot after a truck hit a Scooty in Nambal crossing area of Awantipora, SHO Awantipora G.M Rather told Kashmir Reader.
The deceased girl has been identified as Muskaan Manzoor (19) daughter of Manzoor Ahmad Dar, resident of Dogripora Awantipora.
The accident took place on Monday evening at 5.45 pm, when a truck bearing registration number JK14G-0704 driven by Mohammad Haneef Gujjar, son of Mohammad Fisha Gujjar, resident of Udhampur, coming from Anantnag towards Srinagar hit the bike a bearing registration number JK13D-7883 driven by Suhail Ahmad Khan, resident of Bohu Awantipora on the Srinagar-Jammu highway near Nambal crossing area of Awantipora, in the mishap, resulting death of pillion rider Muskaan Manzoor and injuring the driver.
The injured Suhail Ahmad Khan, son Asadullah, resident of Bohu Awantipora was shifted to nearby hospital where he was referred to Srinagar hospital for further treatment, SHO said.
The driver of the truck was arrested by police Awantipora and the truck seized.
A case FIR number 39/2021 under section 304-A IPC registered at police station Awantipora.
