Retail diesel outlet sealed in Tral for diverting diesel meant for agricultural use to vehicles

Tral: The authorities of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs on Saturday sealed a diesel/petrol selling outlet in the sub division Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district for violating norms.
A diesel/petrol selling unit was sealed by Tehsil Supply Officer of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) department in Tral town for selling high speed diesel meant for Agricultural purposes to private vehicle owners, officials told Kashmir Reader.
The Assistant Director FCS&CA Pulwama Sheikh Enayat Ullah confirmed to Kashmir Reader, said that the unit was sealed for violating licence norms.
“The said dealer is permitted to sell diesel/petrol to farmers for agricultural purposes only but he was selling the fuels to various vehicle owners,” he said.
He added that they received a complaint against the dealer after which a team under Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) Tral, Nazir Ahmad, was constituted.
“The team visited the outlet and found him indulging in diverting and black marketing of diesel/petrol meant for agricultural purpose,” The Assistant Director said.
He added that the shop was sealed.
He said that petrol and other items were seized and a fine of rupees 1000 was imposed on the owner.
“Further action as warranted under law will be taken against him.”
The officials informed that he was found involved in the malpractice for the second time.
