Fruit growers from Srinagar sent on a training programme

SRINAGAR: A group of 50 fruit growers of Srinagar District hailing from Panzinara, Zakura, Shlimar, Khonmoh, Harwan areas were flagged off for a exposure visit by Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, KAS, Director Horticulture Kashmir flagged off the.
Director Horticulture while addressing on the occasion made it clear that the objective of exposure visit is to impart training technical knowhow of the latest technological interventions at Advanced Centre for Horticulture Department. The group of farmers was taken to ACHD Zainapora along with the resource persons /experts of the Horticulture Department.
Director further added that farmers shall grab an opportunity from this exposure visit to learn the technological interventions which are being carried out at ACHD Zainapora in respect of multiplication of root stocks, propagation of elite root stocks, layout and orchard management practices thereof. The farmers shall not hesitate to ask queries from their team leaders accompanying the group with regards to the technical knowhow practiced for the development of Horticulture in respect of nursery and orchard management.
The Department of Horticulture has introduced numerous elite fruit plant cultivars from the advanced countries and farmers also can have the look on these new introductions with their management practices. Director Horticulture envisaged that all the district heads of Kashmir Division shall organize such exposure visits which will impart on farm schooling for the participants in learning many technological interventions with a faster rate of its adoption.
