GDC organizes extension lecture on Environment, Ecology and Wildlife

SRINAGAR: Department of Environmental Science and NSS units of GDC, Pattan in collaboration with Wildlife Research and Conservation Foundation, Kashmir organized an extension lecture on Environment, Ecology and Wildlife.
Speaking on the ocassion Principal of the College, Prof (Dr) Ghulam Jeelani Quereshi appreciated the efforts of Head, Department of Environmental Science, of Dr Asiya Nazir Khan in keeping the students of the college abreast with the latest in the field of Wildlife research and Conservation.
College NSS Programme Officer Prof Sajad Sarvar, welcomed the guests and briefed the Students and NSS Volunteers about the need of the hour to conserve the Natural Habitat of the Wild animals for their sustenance.
The speakers on the occasion, Dr Mehreen Khaleel, Head, Wildlife Research and Conservation Foundation and co-founder of the Association of Indian Primatologist was the expert and the Guest Speaker. She highlighted the effects of climate change on Kashmir Ecology. Tahir Gazanfar the Wildlife Biologist from Wildlife Trust of India, spoke on issues of Wildlife Conservation Markhoor Conservation Project.
The students had a detailed interaction with experts on the topics presented by them. Prof Imtiaz Gul Khan, Staff Secretary presented the Vote Of Thanks.
