CHINAR DAY: KU North Campus, Forestry Department plants ten chinars and 290 conifer saplings

Delina: North Campus, University of Kashmir in collaboration with Jhelum Valley Forest Division Baramulla organized a Chinar day on Monday.
The plantation drive was held under Green J&K plantation scheme of the government. Dr Khurshid Ahmad Qazi, senior most faculty member and Parvaiz Ahmad Wani (Divisional Forest Officer) inaugurated the function. Ten chinar and two hundred ninety conifer saplings were planted on the occasion. Ten chinar and two hundred ninety conifer saplings were planted on the occasion.
Khurshid said the importance of plants in the preservation of life on the earth is pivotal. Parvaiz Ahmad, Divisional Forest Officer, Division Baramulla, said that for the preservation of life, plantation of trees is the top most priority of the Department as such initiatives contribute to sustainable and harmonious development of life under the sun..
