Srinagar: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested an absconding accused after four decades .
The accused was identified as Majeed Tanch son of Fateh Tanch a resident of Check Dara Harwan at present residing at Anderwan area of Kangan in Ganderbal.
He, according to police, was wanted for his involvement in case FIR number 03/1980 under section 379 RPC, 06 Forest Act of Police Station Saddar. He had been evading his arrest for the last 41 years.
The accused has been presented before the Forest Magistrate Sadder Court Srinagar.
