ARTO Pulwama holds road safety awareness programme for HPCL drivers at Pampore

PAMPORE: Assistant Regional Officer Pulwama on Saturday held an awareness programme at a gas plant of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited here in saffron town Pampore under 32th National Road Safety Month, which began on 18th of January and will continue till 17th of February.
To build awareness about road safety and reduce road accidents, a month-long 32nd National Road Safety, 2021 awareness drive themed ‘Sadak Surakhsha Jeevan Raksha’ was held at HPCL Pampore.
Various officials of HPCL and ARTO Pulwama were also present during the programme.
The awareness programme was held for drivers of the HPCL Pampore.
Assistant Regional Transport Officer ,(ARTO)Pulwama Muazzam Ali told Kashmir Reader that the camp was attended by both local drivers and drivers from other states of India.
‎”Since they carry hazards substances in their vehicles, my main focus was to convey to them how they could carry these hazards substances from one place to other and what precautions they should take ” ARTO Pulwama said. He added that the drivers were also told about various road safety norms.
During this occasion a health checkup for the drivers was also conducted.
The programme will continue till 17 February.
