SRINAGAR: The candidates who have been tentatively selected for the various para- medical courses AMT Shereen Bagh on Saturday held a protest demonstration against the AMT and Government medical College Srinagar for delaying the admission process demanding concerned authorities to take necessary steps for declaring the final selection list and starting of the admission process for the selected candidates.
The protesting tentatively selected candidates include boys and girls assembled here in press enclave and chanting slogans ” We want justice” and ” we want admission”.
The protesting students said that they have already approached the concerned authorities of AMT Shereen Bagh and Government Medical College regarding this issue. But unfortunately nothing has been done upon the ground levels.
Shahid Ahmad, one of the protesting candidates said that in February 2020, we have applied for the different para- medical courses at AMT Shereen Bagh for admission purposes.
” On 5th October 2020, the list of the 420 candidates have been declared which has been tentatively selected in the college,” He said.
He said it was also mentioned in the notification which was declared on 5th October 2020. Within 15 days of time period, the final selection list will be also declared and the admission process will be also started for the selected candidates in the college on that immediate basis.
” After 5th October, no final selection list has been declared and no admission process has been started for the candidates,” Ahmad said.
The protesting candidates said that the concerned administration is playing with the future of the candidates, whose final selection list have not been declared yet by the college.
The protesting candidates also requested the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and commissioner secretary of the health and medicine to look into the matter.
