Traffic awareness rally held in Handwara

Handwara: Civil society in collaboration with Handwara police and municipal committee, organised a traffic awareness rally in main town Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
The main motive of the rally was to make people and drivers aware of the traffic rules.
Large number of people including some drivers and shopkeepers also took part in the rally, with posters and banners the rally marched to different markets of Handwara and ended peacefully.
Station house officer (SHO) Handwara and chairman municipal committee (MC) Handwara Masroor Ahmad Banday along with others members of the council also took part in the rally.
They appealed to drivers of passenger and private vehicles to slow their vehicles in and around the town and save the lives of pedestrians, while shopkeepers were appealed to not occupy the foot paths and leave the space for pedestrians.
The officials of the regional transport department were also present on the occasion and they made people aware about the traffic rules.
All the drivers were asked to use seat belts and face masks and passengers were also asked to use face masks during the travel in the vehicles.
