Week long traning on poultary farming concludes at SKUAST

SRINAGAR: A 7days skill development training programme on “Poultry Farming” organized by Directorate of Extension, Shalimar under skill training for rural youth (STRY) in collaboration with SAMETI-K and MANAGE Hyderabad commenced on 19th January 2021 and concluded on 25th January 2021.
The training was aimed to acquaint rural youth in poultry farming and it’s promotion. 15 Rural youth from five different districts of Kashmir division attended the programme.
The valedictory session was held today on 25th January, 2021 at 1 pm at Directorate of Extension, Shalimar. Dr Nazir Ahmed ( Assistant professor, Animal Science) welcomed the dignitaries and participants, and further presented the overview of the training programme. Few participants gave the positive feed back regarding the training programme.
All the participants expressed their satisfaction in respect of content, delivery, presentation and practical demonstration of the topics covered during programme. Participants wished to have more such training programmes in future. Participants also appreciated their exposure visit to different units of FVSc & A.H.
Prof.Mushtaq Ahmed- Honourable Vice Chancellor, SKUAST- Kashmir, was Chief Guest.He distributed certificates to all the participants. His excellency in his valedictory speech remarked that their was utmost need of such training programme for rural youth in the valley and assured that Directorate of Extension, Shalimar shall try to organise such more training programmes in future for betterment and skill development of rural youth. He further appreciated Deputy Director trainings Dr Farhan Naaz Rasool and her team for their efforts that lead to successful conduction of this training programme even under such harsh weather conditions.
