3 fire incidents in Pampore area, Fire and Emergency department hailed for prompt action

PAMPORE: Three separate fire incidents took place in Pampore area on Wednesday.
Three separate incidents of fire were reported at Sempora, Kadlabal and Drangbal near Tehsil Office areas of Pampore which were put under control by fire and emergency department.
Officials informed Kashmir Reader that fire broke out in an oil tanker near Oil depot in Sempora area at around 2:30 pm.
The officials said that Fire and Emergency rushed fire fighting tenders to the spot as soon as they received the call.
“The fire was doused using a foam type extinguisher before it could have turned ugly,” Abdul Hi Lone , incharge fire and emergency station Pampore told Kashmir Reader, adding that the fire erupted due to short circuit in wires of the oil tanker.
He added that as they were returning to their station, they received another call about two separate fire incidents at Kadlabal and Drangbal near Tehsil office where Barat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) Panels caught fire.
“The tenders were rushed at both the places and fire was brought under control, ” he said, adding that fire caused damage to wires, fuse conductors and bodies of the panels. The fire erupted due to a short circuit, officials said.
He appealed to residents of Saffron town Pampore to inform them in case they notice any fire incident and stay away from extinguishing it by themselves because fighting fire is prompt only professionals who can deal very well.
Local residents hailed officials of fire and emergency staff Pampore for prompt action and preventing the fires from taking an ugly turn.
