Tehsil administration Pampore provides blankets, other items to families living in tents

PAMPORE: The Tehsil administration in Saffron town Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district have started an initiative to render a helping hand to poor and needy people who live in temporary structures, sources told Kashmir Reader.
Officials revealed a number of families living in temporary structures including makeshift huts and tents were identified in Pampore Tehsil.
They said that on Tuesday Tehsildar Pampore, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din, visited such families at Galander, Pullpar Kadlabal and Sempora where he distributed blankets and some cash amount among them.
“The families ,mostly nomadic Gujjars or broom makers from other states, were provided with two-three blankets per family and a cash amount of rupees 1000-1500,” eye witnesses told Kashmir Reader.
The officials said that this measure was taken to help these families to fight cold and arrange eatables.
A team of officials from Tehsil office was sent to Wuyan and Khrew villages of Pampore where they provided relief items among the poor.
The initiative was taken in view of reports of death of two kids of a nomadic family from biting cold. in Brinal Lammar area of Kulgam district on Monday.
The relief distribution will continue in coming days.
Meanwhile, Fallah Behbood Committee Pampore has appreciated Tehsildar Pampore and his team for taking this initiative.
The president of the organisation Bashir Ahmad Bhat said that reaching poor families living in tents with relief is a commendable job.
Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din along with his team distributed blankets and cash among 35 poor families living in tents in Saffron town Pampore, he said.
