Shopian: An unidentified male body was found at Awneera village of south Kashmir’s District Shopian on Tuesday morning.
Locals said that body of ‘mentally challenged’ person was found in the village. They said that the person was known to them but they were not aware about his whereabouts.
The body of deceased was taken by police for medico-legal formalities.
A senior police officer concerned for the area told Kashmir Reader that body has been kept in mortuary till it will be identified.
He also said that people whose kin are missing should contact the police station Zainpora on 7051206430. “They can also share photographs of missing kin on our said WhatsApp number,” he said.
The officer added that as per preliminary investigation, it has been found that the deceased was mentally challenged and was often coming in area since some time. “We are further investigating the matter,” he said.
