Bandipora: Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir on Saturday launched the much awaited COVID-19 vaccination drive at CHC Hajin and Sumbal.
The first COVID vaccine shot was given to the doctors on duty at these Health Centres besides other health workers.
Chief Medical Officer Bandipora Dr Bashir Ahmad, Deputy CMO Dr Parveiza Kausar, District Immunization Officer, Dr Reyaz Ahmad, District Social Welfare Officer Ghulam Ahmad Dar, Block Medical Officer Sumbal and Hajin, Dr Aijaz Kant and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
On the occasion ADC Bandipora lauded the efforts of the Health workers in tackling the pandemic situation during last one year and said the society is indebted to the health workers for working round the clock and beyond their duty hours to ensure safety of the common people.
About 200 health workers will be administered COVID19 vaccination in Phase-I. ADC Bandipora said during the first phase 35 vaccination centres were functional out of the total 109 vaccination centres established in the district.
