Rs 3500 fine on erring shopkeepers in Pampore during market checking

PAMPORE: The local administration on Saturday conducted a surprise market checking and imposed fine on the erring shopkeepers in Saffron town Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Raghav Langer, a team of officials on Saturday conducted market checking at Saffron town Pampore. The team comprising Naib Tehsildar Pampore Mohammad Amin, Food Safety Officer Zahoor Ahmad, Secretary Bashir Ahmad, Khilaf Warzi Officer Manzoor Ahmad Pampori, Food Inspector MC Pampore and other officials checked various establishments in the market, officials told Kashmir Reader.
The inspection team checked the quality, hygienic condition, expiry and rate lists etc of Food items and other essential commodities.
During the checking a fine/composition of Rs 3500 were realized from the erring traders besides expired/substandard food items were destroyed on the spot, Zahoor Ahmad Food Safety Officer Pampore block told Kashmir Reader.
The Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din had earlier directed concerned departments to conduct regular market checking during these winter days and take strict action against the offenders so that the black marketing, profiteering and hoarding can be curbed in the Saffron town.
