Militant associate arrested after hideout busted in Pampore village: Police

PAMPORE: One militant associate affiliated to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant outfit was arrested on Sunday as security forces busted a militant hideout in a cow shed in Chandhara village of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The hideout was found in a cow shed and recovered Incriminating material from the cow shed of one Mohammad Azad Shah, resident of Chandhara, a police officer told Kashmir Reader.
The arrested militant associate is identified as Adil Ahmad Shah, son of Mohammad Azad Shah, resident of Chandhara Pampore.
Awantipora district police received an information regarding presence of militants of proscribed outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba in a hideout constructed in a particular house in village Chandhara Pampore.
Upon this information, Police along with Army’s 50 RR and 110 Battalion CRPF carried out the search of the said house on Sunday morning and during search one large hideout was found in the cow shed of the said house.
The size of the hideout is approximately 10ft x5ft x5ft with small opening coved by a lid and a tunnel of about 6ft leading to the hideout, a senior police officer told Kashmir Reader.
He further said Incriminating material of proscribed outfit Lashker-e-Taiba and 26 round of AK-47 were recovered from the said hideout.
A case FIR number 04/2021 stands registered at Police Station Pampore under relevant sections of Unlawful Activity Act, he said.
