Shopian: Four members of a family were hospitalised on Saturday morning after they lost consciousness in their sleep at a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A police official said that Javed Ahmad Thoker, his wife and their two children were found unconscious inside a room of their house in Nusipora village in Keegam area of the district.
The locals and police, according to the official, immediately rushed them to a nearby medical facility in Rajpora Pulwama.
Muhammad Umar, a local resident, told Kashmir Reader that after initial treatment, all the four family members came round and were stable, though they remain admitted in the hospital.
He said that the family had kept a room heating device on throughout the night, which probably caused them to fall unconscious.
He added that the timely help of locals and police saved precious lives.
