Shopian: Government forces carried out a search operation after laying a nocturnal cordon around a cluster of houses in Turkwangam village of Shopian on Friday night.
The operation, according to a police source, was launched by a joint team of government forces on the inputs about the presence of militants in the locality. However, nothing was found till the operation ended on Saturday noon.
A local told Kashmir Reader that forces arrived in the village on Friday night. However, they started searches in Ganapora locality in the wee hours of Saturday amid freezing cold.
He said that forces left the village around noon after carrying searches.
