Leopards cause panic in Baramulla, one captured

BARAMULLA: Several leopards creates panic among the local residents of Kantabagh, Ushkora, Friends Colony, Rangwar and other areas of Baramulla from past few days, due to which a panic has been gripped among the local residents.
On Monday a leopard was spotted in Kantabagh sector number 5 and after public gathering he took shelter in the house of a local Khalid Ahmad Sheikh and after hours of long struggle the officials of the wildlife tranquilized the leopard.
The locals of the area said that there are three to four leopards in the area and everyday they are roaming in the localities due to which people can not move outside from evening to morning. They blamed that from the past couple of weeks leopards are roaming in their residential areas and scores of dogs and other animals have been killed, however the wildlife department are not taking any action.
The wildlife officials said that they captured a leopard and they will install a cage in the area and hope they will catch them soon.
