Srinagar: Acting tough against drug dealings, Police in Ganderbal have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established in the jurisdiction of Police Station Lar intercepted a Maruti-800 vehicle bearing registration number JK09-2682 with one person on board. He has been identified as Aadil Ahmad Wani resident of Shuhama, Ganderbal. During checking, Officers were able to recover Codeine Phosphate consignment from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Lar where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 90/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Lar and investigation in the matter has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Police have resolved to deal robustly with drug peddlers.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
