Srinagar: Former government gunman Papa Kishtwari on Thursday dies at Police hospital of cardiac arrest
According to news agency of KNT the dreaded government gunman Papa Kishtwari died in police hospital on Thursday afternoon.
Papa Kishtwari whose real name is Ghulam Muhammad Lone was a resident of Frestbal Pampore and worked as a watchman in a factory in Pampore before becoming a government gunman.
He was jailed for the killing and was presently lodged in Srinagar.
Police sources told News Agency KNT that Kishtwari was not feeling at the jail and was brought for health check-up at Police Hospital Srinagar; however, he succumbed in the hospital.
An official said that he suffered cardiac arrest.
Kishtwari was arrested by the police in 2015 and he was accused of murdering at least 150 civilians in 17 years and most of these killings occurred in his Pampore and adjoining belt.
The witnesses who deposed before the court against Papa Kishtwari in different cases had claimed that the victims of Kishtwari included students, drivers, businessmen, government employees, farmers, labourers, and an attorney of the south Kashmir’s Pampore.
He was also accused of killing a Contractor from Srinagar.
