Pampore: Pampore police said they arrested a 32 year old youth for uploading obscene pictures of a woman on social media in Saffron town Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police said on Wednesday.
Pampore Police took cognizance of a complaint received by Police Station Pampore from the family of a lady that some miscreants have been blackmailing her and had uploaded her obscene pictures on social media which poses intimidation to her modesty.
Acting swiftly Police Station Pampore have arrested one individuals identified as 32 year old Asif Rasool Wani, son Ghulam Rasool, resident of Drangabal Pampore.
The accused was booked under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Acts, SDPO Pampore Imtiyaz Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
A case FIR Number 89/2020 under section 354A,354C,354D,509,500,406 IPC 66A, 66E,67A Information Technology (IT) Act stands registered in Police Station Pampore and investigation has been initiated, police said.
Police district Awantipora request Community members to share any such information to concern Police Stations. Strict action under law shall be taken against the persons involved in such criminal activities.
