KULGAM: Phase third of Back to Village Programme kick started in district Kulgam, today, witnessed an immense public response and visiting officers who were deployed to Panchayats listened to public grievances in their respective panchayats, inspected offices and developmental sites.
There are 178 Panchayats in 11 blocks of district and all the panchayats will be covered under the ambitious public outreach programme and today more than 82 panchayts were covered and visiting officers in these panchayats will stay for 2 nights and three days in these panchayts to listen to the grievances and demands of people.
Officers and officials from line departments also interacted with the people and sensitized and enrolled the eligible beneficiaries under various beneficiary oriented schemes. The programme witnessed immense public response in all panchayts and people participated in a large number in the programme. Members of PRI have also participated in these programs. The district administration has put in place all arrangements to cover all the panchayats under the programme.
Meanwhile today on this Ghandi Jayanti swatchta pledge ceremony was held in Mini-Secretariat Kulgam. Swatchta pledge ceremony was also held at other offices and panchayats.
On the occasion, DDC Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat launched a weeklong sanitation cum awareness campaign. Earlier, a sanitation awareness rally was organized by the District Administration wherein participants carrying placards and banners on cleanliness and hygiene went through main markets of Kulgam.
ADDC, DPO, ACR and other officers besides BDC’s, members of PRI’s and people participated in the programme.
