Principle Secretary, Home, Shaleen Kabra, visits Letpora during B2V3, lays foundation stone of play field

Pampore: On the first day of ten-day-long back to village-3 programme, Principal Secretary, Home, Shaleen Kabra, on Friday visited Lethpora village of Pampore area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. During the occasion he listened to public grievances and demands at Government High School Lethpora area of Pampore Tehsil.
During the occasion, Shaleen Kabra laid found stone of a play field worth 23.789 lakh at Letpora village of Pampore.
Principal Secretary inspected the stalls put up by different departments and enquired about the grievance redressal mechanism being adopted to meet the public demands. He also distributed sporting kits among school children, income and domicile and other certificates.
He also handed over Baby Kits to newly born girl children under BBBP, wheel chairs, hearing aids, walking sticks among the persons with disabilities, besides sanction letters under Ladli Beti Scheme.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Raghav Langer, Senior Superintendent of Police Awantipora, Tahir Saleem, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din and District Officers of various Departments were present.
A large number of people including senior citizens, youth and women participated in the programme and put forth their demands and grievances before the officers.
The PRIs and local welfare committee members also met the visiting officer and raised their demands and issues.
They raised the issue of discrepancies in the land records, the issue of ban on construction along the national highway, besides demanded an overhead bridge on Highway near Lethpora , up- gradation of water supply scheme and establishment of Trauma Centre in the area.
A delegation of Saffron farmers demanded streamlining of the functioning of sprinkle irrigation system, besides exhibition gallery for saffron growers on the national highway.
A delegation of Youth raised the issue of modern play field besides construction of an open air gym in the area.
During the event school children displayed various sporting activities like Martial Arts, Chess competitions and Tug of war .
“In earlier B2V programmes officers addressed to various issues. The message is that people should participate in coming Panchayat elections. Each Panchayat has been provided with funds, the people should get used to help themselves through Panchayats by addressing their needs, Kabra told Kashmir Reader.
He also redressed scores of grievances on the spot besides distributing sporting kits, domicile certificates ,income certificates, job cards ,KCC cards & labour cards.

Earlier while addressing to a large gathering, Kabra said that B2V Programme is reviving the idea of governance and rejuvenating the spirit of public services.
