Body of drowned boy fished out in Uri

BARAMULLA: After four days of hectic search, the teams of police and SDRF fished out the body of a minor boy in Boniyar, area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday who had drowned in river Jhelum. Officials said that a team of SDRF and police spotted the dead body of the boy near the National Hydroelectric-power Project Corporation (NHPC) canal gates at Boniyar and retrieved it.
On Wednesday a 14 years old boy Shahid Ahmad Lone son of Noor Mohammad Lone resident Khudhalan Mohla, of Nowshera Uri drowned in river Jhelum near his village Nowshera when he along with other children of the area took a bath in the river with Shahid losing is balance and drowning. From the time the teams of police SDRF were in search of the body, and on Saturday they retrieved the body some three kilometers downstream far from the accident spot. The body was later handed over to his family after legal formalities.
