HKM GDC B’pora organises annual road race

BANDIPORA: Hassan Khuehami Memorial Government Degree College Thursday organized an Annual Road Race that started from Aloosa and culminated at Patushay.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir received the participants at Patushay and distributed awards among the winners and appreciation certificates to the participants.
Farooq Ahmad Lone, a 6th semester student from Athwatoo bagged first position and Zubair Shafi Khan of 3rd semester bagged the second position while Aehsan Sultan bagged the third position.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC congratulated the students for taking part in the race and urged the college authority to continue sports activities while taking all the precautions amid COVID-19 pandemic.
He stressed on the students to take an active part in sports activities to remain physically and mentally fit. He however assured full support to the college from district administration in developing the sports infrastructure in the college and said that the administration will provide every possible support in organizing sports activities in the college.
Earlier the road race was flagged off by Principal of the college Dr. MA Malik and about 50 students participated in the race that started at 7am.
Malik said that such events are essential for boosting the morale of students. He said college is going to start some indoor and outdoor activities to enhance the talent of the students and urged students to actively participate in such events.
