BARAMULLA: A young boy was drowned in river Jhelum in Uri area of Baramulla district on Wednesday afternoon.
Locals said that a group of boys were bathing in river Jhelum on Wednesday afternoon near the Nowshera village of Uri, in which a 14 years old boy identified as Shahid Ahmad son of Noor Mohammad resident Khudhalan Mohla, of Nowshera Uri.
The police sources said that soon after the incident teams of police along with locals reached the spot and started an operation to fishout the body from the river.
