DC Anantnag inaugurates adhoc Zila Sainik welfare office

SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag KK Siddha Monday inaugurated adhoc Zila Sainik welfare office at Anantnag, a statement issued by Zila Sainik Welfare Office (Srinagar) said.
Speaking on the sidelines of inaugural function DC Anantnag who was also the chief guest on the inaugural ceremony congratulated Armed Forces Veterans, NOK of slain soldiers and war widows or establishment of the facility in the District Anantnag.
“While praising the role of Armed forces, he said that the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces are invaluable and unparalleled,” the statement read.
“The DC assured that the district administration will undertake all necessary steps for effective resolution of issues faced by the ex-servicemen and their families,” it said.
Meanwhile on spot grievances were heard and necessary directions were issued to he concerned for immediate action.
For smooth functioning of adhoc Zilha Sainik Welfare Office at (Ananatnag) power backup facility was also provided by the Deputy Commissioner.  The orphan daughter of slain soldier Naik Mohammad Iqbal Ganie of (16 JAK LI) was sanctioned laptop by the DC.
ZilaSainik Welfare Office (Srinagar) under Rajya Sainik Board (J&K) is currently responsible for the welfare of Serving Personnel,   Ex-Servicemen, War Widows, Widows and their dependents in the Districts of (South and Central Kashmir).
District Anantnag presently under the jurisdiction ofZila Sainik Welfare Office (Srinagar) has the largest population of Ex-Servicemen/War Widows and Widows by virtue of which it qualified for an independent Welfare Office.  The case for the same is under process with UT of (JK) and approved in principal.
To help the ESM & Widows the DC Anantnag decided to provide furnished office space to Sainik Welfare Deptt in the premises of DC Complex Anantnag.
The office will be run by the staff of Sainik Welfare Office (Srinagar) as an interim measures to give services to the ESM/Widows of (South Kashmir).  The establishment of adhoc office in a record time was possible due to close interaction and co-ordination between State Administration, HQ 31 Sub Area and Department of Sainik Welfare (J&K).
Sainik Welfare Deptt on behalf of the whole fraternity expressed gratitude towards the District Administration for the allotment of land in favour of the Department and establishment of adhocZilaSainik Welfare Office in the premises of DC Complex (Anantnag)
Among, other officials, Ex-Servicemen, War Widows, Widows   Syed Yasir Kubravi, KAS, ACR (Revenue)-cum-Nodal Officer for Sainik Welfare, of District Anantnag was also present on the occasion.
