2G internet service restored in Sopore after four days

BARAMULLA: The authorities on Saturday evening restored the mobile internet service in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district after four days. The 2G internet service has been restored on all networks in Sopore and its adjoining areas, an official said.
The mobile internet service was closed in the police district Sopore to avoid public protests and law and order after the mysterious death of a local youth Irfan Ahmad Dar resident of Sidiq colony Sopore in police custody.
The police on September16 issued a statement that they arrested a militant associates Irfan Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Akbar Dar resident of Sidiq colony Sopore along with two hand grenades and a police team along with Irfan were going to recover more arms in Tujar Sharief area, however, Irfan managed to escape taking advantage of dark and on next day police recovered his dead body near a stone quarry.
However the family and local people denied the police version and said that he was killed in police custody. Later people also staged protests against the killing in the area.
Later the district magistrate Baramulla Dr Gulam Nabi Itoo ordered its probe and ordered additional DC Baramulla Mohammad Ahsan Mir to submit the actual report before the district magistrate within twenty days.
