ANC for action against police for ‘murder’ of Sopore youth

SRINAGAR: Awami National Conference has asked the LG to order the immediate suspension aand arrest of the Police unit at Sopore involved in the cold blooded murder of Irfan till completion of an enquiry that should set up constituted under a sitting Judge of the Kashmir High Court.
This was stated by ANC SR. VP Muzzafar Shah while reacting to the Sopore tragedy in a press statement today.
He also called for a time bound enquiry not stretching beyond one month is the need of the hour to unravel the truth behind such gruesome incidents committed by people in Uniform otherwise under oath to protect the life, dignity, honour and Constitutional rights of every individual.
Even if, as per the police statement in this case, the men in uinform have no authority to kill a person on the pretext of running away in darkness. If it was dark as per the flimsy police version, then how was Irfan spotted and shot, questioned Shah.
The people of Kashmir are yet to recover from the cold blooded murder of the Rajouri youth in Shopian that they are now mourning the tragedy befallen the family of Irfan at Sopore. This is highly condemnable & unacceptable.
The people of Kashmir need the Lt Governor to act as per his duty towards the masses & ensure such tragedies are stopped completely, he said.
The ANC Sr. VP appealed to all political parties to raise this issue in & outside J&K to ensure a speedy trial in this matter to bring the culprits to Justice however high his position.
