PAMPORE: Two tribal villages in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district to be developed as cluster model villages under tribal sub plan, officials revealed on Saturday.
A meeting under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Zaffar Hussain Shawl was held at Panchayat ghar Wahab Sahab village in Pampore area of Pulwama district for submitting DPR in respect of tribal cluster model village for Wahab Sahab Pampore.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora, Zaffar Shawl Shawl, told Kashmir Reader that they received funds to tone of rupees 10 crore under tribal sub plan.
“Two tribal villages have been identified in Pulwama, one is Wahab Sahab and Hajin in Tral,” he said, adding that the funds will be utilised for starting a number of developmental activities in these villages.
“It was in this regard that a meeting involving representatives from these tribal community and officials from all line departments was held today so that DPR can be prepared,” he said, adding that once DPR is prepared they will start various activities for developing these tribal areas.
Mohammad Yaseen Poswal, a representative of tribal community from Wahab Sahab village told Kashmir Reader that they are happy that they were supported by district administration.
“We submitted a memorandum to LG through DC Pulwama and we are happy that our demands were fullfilled,” he said, adding that they are thankful to DC Pulwama, ADC Awantipora and BDO for supporting them for raising their genuine concerns for development with concerned authorities.
The government officers and officials who were present in the meeting include ADC Awantipora Zaffar Hussain Shawl, BDO Pampore, Assistant Director Planing office, Naib Tehsildar Khrew, ZEO Pampore, AEE PHE, AEE PDD, AEE R&B , Range officer Forest, Wildlife development, Health, Education department, CA&PD, RDD, Agricultural, Horticulture, Sheep and Animal husbandry, Fishries , General Secretary All Gujjar Bakerwal Conference and others.
