Pampore truck driver dies in Banihal road accident

PAMPORE: A truck driver from Pampore village died while two others got injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Chamalwas area of Banihal in Ramban district, on Jammu-Srinagar highway on early Saturday morning.
According to a report, a truck bearing registration number JK18A -0557 was on its way from Jammu towards Srinagar, skidded-off the road and fell into a 100 feet deep gorge at Chamalwas area of Banihal, resulting in the death of the truck driver while two others got injured.
The deceased driver identified as Basit Ahmad Najar son of Nazir Ahmad, resident of Andrusoo village of Pampore, a local resident Mohammad Altaf told Kashmir Reader.
The injured persons immediately shifted to Sub district hospital Banihal by police. They have been identified as Mayssar Ahmad Bhat son of Bashir Ahmad and Furqan Ahmad Bhat son of Mohamad Altaf, residents of Andrusoo Pampore.
The body was handed over to Najar’s family after completion of legal formalities.
Police in Banihal have registered a case in this regard.
