Pampore: Employees of Power Development Department (PDD) on Tuesday held a protest demonstration against privatization of the department here at Saffron town Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
Dozens of employees of the Power Development Department (PDD) under the banner of All J&K Power Employees staged a protest demonstration against the proposed privatization of PDD at a park near Punjab National Bank in Pampore .
The protest was led by Fayaz Ahmad, Assistant engineer KPDL Sub division Pampore. The protesters were holding placards with slogans against the privatization of PDD. “The decision to privatise PDD is against consumers and the employees have rights which shouldn’t get violated,” Fayaz Ahmad said.
He said that losses of electricity are due to lack of Infrastructure.
“They should give PDD employees a chance to prove themselves after providing proper infrastructure,” he said.
