BUDGAM: The Deputy Commissioner of Budgam on Thursday has announced implementation of the complete lockdown and restrictions for next five days from July 31 to 4 August across the Budgam district.
Earlier, the restrictions were eased in the district for three days from 27th July- 30 July in view of the Eid-ul- Azha.
An order issued by the Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza reads that after discussion with the health authorities and examining ground situation, it has been found that the restrictions are required to be continued for the time being to stop the spread of Covid-19.
“Now, therefore, in order to contain the further spread of Covid-19 and in exercise of powers under Section 144 Cr PC and Section 34 Disaster Management Act, 2005, the following restrictions are hereby re-imposed in the district for a period of five days from 31th July- 4th August 2020,” order said
The order reads that there shall be complete lockdown in the whole district. All shops, business establishments in the district including main towns of Budgam, Magam, Beerwah, Khansahib, Chadoora, B.K Pora, Bemina, Charar-e- Sharief, Narbal, Chittergam, Nagam, etc shall remain closed, there shall be complete restrictions on both inter- and intra – district movement of public transport including SUMOs, Taveras, Auto Rikhshas, etc only vehicles carrying goods, LPG, Oil Tankers shall be allowed.
“There shall be complete restrictions on both inter and intra- district movement of the private vehicles including 2- wheelers. Only official vehicles and vehicles with valid permissions and those of Medical officials shall be allowed and only Agriculture and Horticulture and construction activities shall be allowed as per SOP/ DMRR guidelines,” order said.
The order further reads that Senior Superintendent of Police Budgam/ Srinagar, Concerned SDMs, Tehsildars/ Naib Tehsildars (Executive Magistrate Ist class), SDPOs and SHOs shall ensure strict implementation of restrictions for five days up to 4th August 2020.
