Cases spiralling in Pampore health block, 59 cases registered in a single day

PAMPORE: Pampore health block witnessed spike in coronavirus cases as 59 cases were reported in the health block during the last 24 hours.
The number of cases included over 40 civilians from various quarantine centres and red zones and eighteen cases from CRPF personnel at Lethpora camp.
Tehsildar Pampore confirmed the number of cases and told Kashmir Reader that the number is high, but fortunately most of the cases have been reported from different quarantine centres and red zones.
He also appealed to people that they should wear masks and follow SoPs so that the spread of the virus could be curbed.
“We have four red zones in the town and Deputy Commissioner Pulwama himself attended these to aware as well as warn to adopt the safety measures,” he said,
Block Medical Officer Pampore, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that Pampore medical block registered 59 new cases of COVID-19 including 41 civilians and 18 CRPF personnel from a camp located in Lethpora.
“The sample of civilians and CRPF personnel were collected by them a couple of days ago,” he said.
The BMO informed that among 41 positive cases, 35 were already in quarantine and the remaining 7 cases were shifted to isolation ward.
Among 41 positive civilian cases include five members of a family from Drangbal Pampore , six from Wuyan village, eight from Patalbagh village, two from Bathina Khrew village, one from Khrew village, one from Shar Shali and five from Hasanwani Kakapora.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Raghav Langer on Sunday also visited many red zone areas of Saffron town Pampore to inspect as to how SOP’s are being implemented.
He instructed these officials to impose fine people who roam without wearing masks.
