Bakery shop gutted in Pampore, 4 bikes also damaged

PAMPORE: A bakery shop gutted in Drangbal area of saffron town Pampore in wee hours Sunday causing significant damage to raw materials and the two storey building.
According to locals, the fire erupted in the Madina bakery shop at around 5:00 in the morning with some men who were sleeping in the upper storey having a narrow escape.
Irfan Ali Tantray, owner of the gutted bakery shop told Kashmir Reader that various food items including ghee, butter and flour were completely damaged.
” Approximately I suffered a loss of rupees 16 lakh,” he said.
The fire also affected a neighbouring cement store.” Four motorcycles which were kept in the store were completely damaged,” locals said. The bakery shop caught fire due to a short circuit, unofficial reports suggest.
On getting information, the locals immediately rushed to the spot and informed the fire and emergency personnel b. Fire fighters from Fire Station Pampore rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
No injury or casualty has been reported in the incident. The bakery shop owner has appealed for compensation.
