Shopian Jio subscribers seek faithfull network, prior to recharging

Shopian: The customers of Reliance Jio mobile network in Shopian are agahast over the company asking for recharge of their services despite the service of this leading mobile company being very poor in the area.
Many of the customers of this private company told Kashmir Reader, why should they recharge their mobiles when the company has failed to provide them a proper network.
“The network was initially very good, but over the year we have had no network since,” said Basharat Ahmad, a resident of Malikgund village. The village is situated some seven kilometers away from the district headquarter of Shopian .
Ahmad added that the repeated appeals to Jio authorities didn’t bear any fruits despite the assurances of timely solution. The villagers demand that either a separate tower should be installed or they should be compensated for the callous attitude of the company.
Similarly at Pargochi village, Jio customers are facing similar problems, even with a tower in the village that has been installed in the village for two years, but remains dysfunctional due to unknown reasons.
Locals said that after the services were launched and extended in Kashmir, they used to have satisfactory network and other services from the company, but with the rise in the number of connections the area was ‘denied’ the network as the coverage of nearby towers was reduced.
“They have made all investments like generators, wires, electricity and tower setups, but we have been waiting for the day but the tower was not made functional and locals get a proper signal on their mobiles,” Adil Ahmad, a local said.
Villagers added that they are now receiving calls from Jio officials to recharge the phones or their connections will be barred, which according to them is injustice as they themselves are aware that they are demanding money for services that never continued for the customers.
