Helpline for medical emergencies set up in Anantnag

ANANTNAG: The district administration here has put in place a separate institutional mechanism offering requisite assistance and transportation facilities to the patients requiring urgent medical attention including dialysis, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, who are being treated both in government and private health facilities, within and outside the district. This was stated by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Anantnag here Friday.

ADC said that though a control room is already functional in the district for receiving medical emergency and other distress calls, however, considering the situation, it was felt expedient to put in place a separate mechanism for such patients. “Such patients have been asked to contact the helpline nos. 9419453872 and 7006035495 and Whatsapp requisite prescription for availing the facility. The transport facility, if required, will only be provided on the prior appointment,” he said. “However, the arrangement is not for purchase and home delivery of medicines otherwise prohibited under relevant provisions the law in vogue,” ADC added.
