SRINAGAR : Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Baseer Ahmad Khan Saturday urged officers to implement lockdown strictly around the highway and initiate strict action against the violators. He stated this while conducting an extensive tour of National Highway from Jammu to Srinagar to review lockdown measures and other arrangements put in place along the highway to prevent the spread of Coronavirus infection. He inspected the arrangements put in place for the local population at Chenani, Udhampur, Nashri tunnel, Ramban, Ramsu, Banihal, Jawahar tunnel, Zig mode, Qazigund, Anantnag, Toll Plaza Awantipora and Pampore.
Reviewing the arrangements, Advisor Khan directed concerned to make a contingency plan for area of operation and earmark senior officers for essential services at major stops on the Highway. Advisor Khan accompanied by District Magistrate Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Dar also visited quarantine and screening centre’s established at Zig mode near Jawahar Tunnel where he inspected all the facilities provided to the suspected Cobid-19 patients. Khan directed the officials not to take any chance and follow the guidelines with the utmost care, besides he also asked quarantined people to cooperate with the administration which is important for the well-being of their families.
