Shopian admin races to make 2 lakh masks vital to virus fight

Shopian: District administration Shopian is racing to make two lakh masks for the public which is vital to virus fight. Over 3500 masks have been made so far and one thousand have been distributed among the people. The initiative was taken a few days ago by deputy commissioner Shopian, Choudhary Muhammad Yasin to meet the demand in the district in wake of Covi-19 pandemic which so far has infected around 14 people in the district. According to doctors, all of the positive cases are asymptomatic and stable. Officials said that over a dozen tailors have been hired by the administration to make masks. Deputy commissioner Shopian Choudhary Muhammad Yasin while confirming to Kashmir Reader about making of masks said, “It can be used for multiple times after washing and drying. Over 1000 masks have been distributed.” Shopian has around three lakh population. As many as a half a dozen villages have been declared red zones to contain the transmission of the virus.
