Militant arrested in Baramulla: Police

Baramulla: Police on Thursday said they have arrested Jash-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday night. A top police officer said that during the intervening night of 8th and 9th April 2020, police received specific information about the presence of militants in Shumlarn area of Kandi Baramulla and a search operation was launched by police, 52 RR, 161TA, and 176 CRPF. “The militant has revealed his identity as Bashir Ahmad Beigh resident of Shirpora village affiliated with JeM,” he said, adding that AK 47 rifle, two Ak magazines, 40 AK rounds were recovered from his possession. He added FIR number 12/2020 under section 7/25 IA ACT 18,20,38 ULAP act has been registered in police station Chandusa and further investigation is on. Police claimed that he is the same person who was involved in luring two young boys to join militant ranks in the last week of March.
