LG launches Toll Free ambulance service

JAMMU: In view of coronavirus outbreak, Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu on Tuesday launched a Toll Free 102/108 ambulance service.
The statement here said that Murmu launched 102/108 Toll Free Ambulance Service in J&K.
Lt Governor said that the operationalisation of 102/108 Ambulance Service would ensure the delivery of public health care services to the patients at their doorsteps.
“It will provide round the clock transportation to the patients requiring immediate medical care, especially critical, accidental victims, pregnant women and sick children,” he said.
He laid special emphasis on reaching out with prompt Emergency Medical Services to the people particularly those residing in far flung and difficult pockets of J7K.
He stressed on minimising the response time of the Ambulance service and called for increasing the fleet of ambulances through pooling of various funding sources like CSR, MPLAD, UT Capital Fund etc to saturate the service.
