Snooker centre sealed in Pampore for violating government orders on crowd control

PAMPORE: Authorities on Saturday sealed a snooker centre in Pampore town in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district for violating prohibitory orders which were imposed in the area in view coronavirus.
Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din sealed a Snooker centre at Kadlabal Pampore after it was found that the indoor facility was operating in the main market in violation of section 144 CrPc.
“Around 20 people were found playing snooker neglecting government orders for crowd control in view of corona virus,” he said , adding that that they were compelled by law to seal the centre for violating government instructions. He also warned other shopkeepers to abide by already issued orders for crowd control.
He told Kashmir Reader that Municipal Committee Pampore employees have been warning people from crowding spaces in the market and practice social distancing to prevent themselves for corona virus.
Authorities had imposed restrictions under section 144 in the district as a precautionary measure against the spread of coronavirus but despite restrictions, the snooker were open in violation of the government orders.
