Steps to be taken to disinfect public places, says Srinagar Mayor

SRINAGAR: Srinagar Mayor Junaid Mattu on Tuesday said that collaborative steps would be taken to disinfect railways stations, bus stands, mini bus stands sumo and other public places. He said that the flea market, Macca Market, Gyms etc. have already been closed. He stated this in a meeting held in wake of coronavirus scare. Expressing concern over the rising situation due to the apprehension of spread of coronavirus, he directed that necessary collaborative steps would be taken to disinfect railways stations, bus stands, mini bus stands sumo and taxi stands.

“Police shall extend every possible help in complete shutting down of vendor markets, restaurants, golf courses and other vulnerable places of public gathering,” he said, adding special emphasis shall be given for sanitisation, fumigation and chemical spraying in and around chest diseases hospital Drujgan Dalgate Srinagar.

The following health advisories were recommended by all the participants i) Thermal scanners shall be procured for testing the public at Airport, Railway station, Hospitals (Both government/private) and other important public places. ii) All Hospitals of the City shall be sterilised and sanitised with the recommended Chemical QAC (Quaternary Ammonium Chloride). iii) The Medical/Para- Medical Staff of all the Hospitals shall be provided with quality gloves and masks. iv) The isolation clinics/ Kiosks for suspected cases of the said viral infection shall be established at proper places in the hospitals. v) Mass gathering of people inside the hospitals shall be strictly banned. All Station House Officers shall be directed to ensure strict ban on entry of the public in gardens, parks, restaurants, Gymnasiums etc.
