HAJIN: Municipal Committee Hajin on Monday started a demolition drive here against shopkeepers and vendors. A team headed by Tehsildar Hajin, chairman Municipal Committee Hajin ,SHO Hajin and other officials carried a demolished drive against shopkeepers and vendors who have illegally occupied the roadsides and foot path in the market.

The locals said the most of the shopkeepers and vendors in the main market Hajin have occupied the roadside, which is causing inconvenience to general public and resulting in traffic jams. They said that they have approached the concerned officials, but they were not paying heed to their issues. Locals blamed the municipal committee and district administration for failing to clear the encroachment in the area.

A local Mohammad Sajid told Kashmir Reader that Municipal committee Hajin had hardly takes action against encroachment, “but today Municipal Committee particularly Tehsildar Hajan has started this drive. We hope it will continue in future so that people can have sign of relief”. Talking to Kashmir Reader, chairman Municipal Committee Hajin Irshad Ahmad said that they have started the drive against encroachment and it will continue.
