BARAMULLA: Three residential houses were damaged due to soil erosion and shooting stones in Machikrand village of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on late Friday evening after heavy rains lashed the area.
Sources said that three houses owned by Mohammad Ayoob Janjoo, Mohammad Sadeeq Janjoo and Abdul Qayoom Janjoo were damaged partially due to soil erosion and shooting stones from nearby mountain. They said that families living in the houses escaped safely and no one was injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, twenty five families of Chinar Mohalla in the same village were also shifted to safer places after shooting stones hit the area due to incessant rains.
