Road, school building damaged in a Baramulla village waits for repairs

BARAMULLA: A road link and a school building that was damaged due to landslide in past month in Gulistan village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district has not been repaired yet.
Locals of village Gulistan said that a road link which connecting the Gulistan village with Uri Baramulla highway was damaged in heavy snowfall last month, resulting the road and nearby government middle school building Gulistan also got damaged.
They said that as government announced that schools will start their normal functions soon, but the officials of the education department yet to carry repairs of the school neither anybody reach the spot to check the condition of road link.
A senior officer of the education department when contacted, said that teachers of the school already reported it that a school building has been damaged, but we are waiting as the roads and buildings department will clear the road and later we will repair the school, till time we will shift the school to any other safer place.
