Khomeini Chowk residents slam PHE for failing to repair leaking pipeline

SRINAGAR: The residents of Khomeini Chowk Bemina slammed Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for failing to repair the leaking pipeline on the main road, which according to them is causing inconvenience.
They said from the last 13 months, the pipeline is leaking. “The water enters directly into our homes and shops that damages our property,” they said.
“In 2018, PHE department repaired the pipeline. After some days, the pipeline started leaking again,” said a local, Zulifkar Ali Mir.
He added, “We have already approached the officials from time to time, but nothing has been done on the ground till this date.”
Chief Engineer of Public Health Engineering department, Abdul Wahid said that he will look into the matter and necessary steps will be taken into this issue.
The leakage has also damaged the road and the locals said the condition of the road is dismal. “We have called on the officials to repair the road, but to no avail,” they said.
Sami Arif, Chief Engineer of Roads and Buildings (R&B) department told Kashmir Reader that they will repair the road once the pipeline is serviced.
