Police registers case against DeM

Srinagar: Police on Friday registered an FIR against Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) for allegedly raising  ‘anti-national’ slogans and giving ‘hate speech’.

“It has come to the notice of the police about certain unlawful acts of DeM outfit through social media videos and other reliable sources where they have indulged in acts inviting penal provisions for offences under various sections of UA(P) Act” a spokesman of police said.

“They have also raised anti-national slogans and have given hate/provocative speech thereby inviting charges under various sections of penal code” the police official said.

“Police has taken cognizance into the matter and a case has been registered in this regard at police station Soura and investigation set into motion” the official added.
